Academy Awards

Star Wars won eight Academy Awards but lost to Woody Allen's Annie Hall for best picture. Diane Keaton won best actress for Annie Hall, while actor Richard Dreyfuss won an Oscar for his role in The Goodbye Girl. Saturday Night Fever danced its way into American culture and disco was Stayin' Alive thanks to the Bee Gees.
